There is a bakery here famous for it's pound cakes. They ship all over the world and were even on Oprah's Favorite Things. After sending these to friends and family at $40.00 a pop, I went on a quest to make my own that would be as good or better than Janie's. After several attempts and blind taste tests with friends who knew the real deal. I have come up with one that beat out Janie's by all who tried it! This is not meant for those who are trying to lose weight, but if you want to impress someone through your culinary skills, this is a keeper!
